In collaboration with Clarkes Design & Construct
This pristine workshop, built for Tekno, specialises in the modification and tuning of high-performance race cars and super cars.
Their specifications for beautifully finished office areas, showrooms and workshop are normally only requested for prestige residential projects.
Challenge
Given the high calibre clientele Tekno service, they wanted to ensure their headquarters were not just another steel framed factory.
With extensive, full height glazing to the front office and exacting load requirements for the workshop were further complicated by the design intent requiring concealment of as much of the structure as possible.
We had a challenging design scope to fulfill.
Solutions
We approached this design like a prestige residential build, all materials, member sizes, structural connections and finishes were carefully considered ensuring we met Clarkes Design & Construct architectural requirements.
We utilised extensive large format precast concrete panels for walling elements with concealed structural steelwork. This allowed glazing to run from floor to ceiling along entire wall segments and the refined connections gave our client a simple and elegant structural solution.
The speed and accuracy with which this structure went up, while meeting our Architectural constraints were a significant achievement by the NGS team.
